OUR TEAM
The Team Behind Our Success
Our success in this industry is due largely to the amazing team we have here at Marine Air Flow.
20 years ago we started with Brad working from home in an open faced shed on our 30 acre property in Cairns. Today we are 20 strong with tradesman, apprentices, a CAD Team, Management Team & Warehouse Team.
Our team is extremely diverse which has helped us all move forward as a business and a team. We are so proud of everyone on our team, how hard they work and how much they contribute to our day to day operations. We all work a 4 day week - yes that's correct - we only work Monday through Thursday, so we know we all have the best work-life balance we probably could. This is a HUGE factor in our success.

Brad
Brad's role these days has evolved to being the main point of contact for new business and ongoing clients. He still has a hand in the more technical project's development, however he does spend a reasonable amount of time at tradeshows these days along with visiting commercial clients about ongoing projects.
Brad has given up his jet boat racing, however has now decided to focus his efforts on some slower social pursuits like kit boarding and single track mountain biking. You can often find him following his wife around the mountains on some local hikes or swimming our amazing Gold Coast locations.

Mark
Mark started with us as a labourer in 2011. We loved his "can do" attitude from the start and it wasn't long before he was the next apprentice to start with us.
Mark has shown a great head for numbers, is great with technology and always manages to keep his cool no matter how stressful the situation. Mark is now our Chief Estimator and is the person who will most likely be communicating with you to design and quote your project.
In his spare time Mark has a young family and is quite the expert on all things Rugby League.
Blake
Blake has been with Marine Air Flow since 2009 and was our first employee to get long service leave.
Blake was a second year apprentice when he started with us and has moved up through the ranks to his current position where he manages our production team on the workshop floor.
He loves our four day week and you can often find him with his wife and two children camping all around the gold coast, or golfing with his dad and grandad, or tackling the multiple single tracks around the Gold Coast on his mountain bike

Jenny
Jenny runs her own Web Development business, however fortunately she commits a decent amount of her time to making sure Marine Air Flow stays at the forefront of any web design trends and updates.
Luckily as part of her skillset, Jenny also is an expert on all things Zoho and does programming integration for all our Zoho modules to automate as much as we possibly can.
Jenny is one of those crazies that does long distance walks, is a beach fanatic and also takes care of Chloe her rescue dog who spends most of the day keeping all of us in the office on the straight and narrow.

Kaleena
Kaleena has possibly the most important role in our team. She is Brad's offsider and does her very best to keep him on time and distraction free. None of us envy her that role, however between herself and Brad they do get most of our processes developed and in place.
Kaleena is a mother to 2 young boys and has recently built a new home with her husband and sons. She has also been involved in the Jet Sprinting community on a volunteer basis for quite some time.
Kaleena is also the person who is responsible for our ISO certification and we are ALL extremely grateful that she has taken that role on.

Matt
Matt was one of our better finds. His niece was our cleaner for a while and introduced us to Matt. We have been so thankful to have found him since that very first day and know that whatever you give Matt to do - you can consider done.
Apart from our maintenance, Matt handles our finished assembly, testing of fan motors, wrapping and packing.
If you have ever done a "Christmas lights tour" of Tweed Coast homes with those amazing light displays, chances are you've driven past Matt's home. His electronic skills have ensured that adding to his Chrissy lights display every year is an ongoing activity. He starts planning around June to be ready for the holiday season.

Jacob
Jacob has recently qualified as a tradesperson, and we are exceptionally fortunate to have found him fresh out of school to begin his Certificate III Engineering - Fabrication Trade with us.
If you order an Engine Room Ventilation System the chances are that Jacob has fabricated the Fan Housings and Grilles himself.
Jacob has a beautiful calico cat which he shares with his roommate (The cat belongs to his roommate but Jacob thinks the cat is his lol!) and drives a very nice VW Golf R.

Thian
Thian and his wife Suswe came to Australia from Burma (Myanmar) as refugees in 2010. Thian filled a temporary position for us starting in 2014, and the next week we offered him his mature age apprenticeship.
Thian drives from Logan every day which is at least a 30 minute commute each way. Despite this, he is always smiling and to our great delight won 2017 Apprentice Of The Year for the Gold Coast region. We are so proud of his achievements both at work and in life.
Thian and his family are very dedicated to his church and you can find them celebrating their faith every weekend at the Logan Burmese church on Sundays.

Liam
Liam has been with us since early 2014. He is our Senior CAD drafting and drawing person and extremely important to our team. We are so fortunate to have someone of Liam's skills that is happy to work a part time role.
Liam is constantly improving his skill set and has recently started using our 3D printer to create models for both projects and products.
Liam is a mad gamer and you will be able to find him online most weekends deep into his gaming world. We also live on the same property the factory is on and Liam is a favourite with our dog Chloe.
