From Home To The Globe

Starting with Brad working on his own out of our acreage property in Cairns, we never imagined that we would be here with 13 team members, manufacturing complete engine ventilation room systems and shipping to all parts of the globe. Marine Air Flow has morphed from a one man band selling only intake separator grilles over 13 years ago, to be where we are today. A truly international business that has grown on the back of our incredible team and their dedication to success.

Brad is still involved on a day to day basis, however he is no longer spending months on the road getting Marine Air Flow's name out there. He still travels quite a bit but it's often in response to large military contracts or inquiries from overseas boat builders.

Embracing The Web

Being a web developer myself, we always very much embraced the internet for how it could attract not just local clients but international as well. Our first overseas client was from New Zealand and now we have shipped as far afield as Iceland. Our website has been very instrumental in our success and today is our main source of information for all clients. Check out the images below of previous versions. They look very amateurish now but they were cutting edge at the time.

MAFI Website in 2009

2009 Website

Our first website was created during the times where images couldn't be too large and text was king. While we were so proud of it at the time, I look at it now and realise how hard it must have been to read. It did generate a lot of consumer confidence however as this was a time when even large businesses hadn't necessarily embraced this technology. Our product range was 4 products deep with Intake Grilles, High Volume and Compact Fans and our own stainless steel air dampers. They were still called fire flaps then!

MAFI Website in 2012

An Upgrade in 2012

We had created our intro video earlier this year and it became the feature of our website home page. We added more colour, more pages, more info and of course showcased more products.

This was the start of the more visually pleasing Marine Air Flow website. At this point Riviera had come on board with Marine Air Flow supplying engine room ventilation systems for all their vessels over 48'. This was a big moment for us.

Product wise, we had added more sizes in both our fans and dampers and were doing more custom sizes in our grilles.

MAFI Website in 2015

A Re-release in 2015

By 2015 website were becoming much more focused on the user experience. We added heaps more images, sectioned out our product info and starting including much more specific information.

By this point we were addressing a fully international market so it was important to simplify our text without leaving out all the important info. We started shipping internationally routinely to both private owners and overseas boat builders.

Our Current Goals

This month we will be releasing our latest website design with yet again, even more information for our clients. Our focus is based around our entire client base, from recreational fisherman through to international manufacturers.

We now have complete systems, accessories for directional air flow, fan speed controllers & many more styles of grilles and ventilation systems.

Every client is important to us & we felt the need to show that to our visitors . From private owners to naval architects, we welcome inquiries from all prospective clients & we hope that our website reflects our approachability & also showcases our knowledge in the engine room ventilation field.

In addition to this, we have been focused on providing more easy to find technical information to our clients. Our spec data sheets have had an overhaul and our brochure is now available online also. Moving through 2021 we are focused on our website being not only a great showcase for our products but a great location for quality information to assist our clients developing the best operating conditions they can.
