We can supply both AC and DC fans for the purpose of assisting in the induction of air into and around your engine room.
Combustion engines require air to produce horsepower, to support combustion, and for cooling purposes. In a traditional vessel with natural aspiration (ie: no fans), the only air movement in your engine room is due to the air being consumed to support combustion. Very little additional air enters or leaves the engine room. Without fan forced air being inducted into your engine room, the space gets warmer and warmer, forcing your engine to draw warm ambient air which is far from an ideal situation.
With fans introducing new cool air into your engine room you will enable all your engine room equipment to work more efficiently, while extending the mechanical life of this equipment.
DC Fans:
These fans are suited to smaller situations and engine rooms which are not running generators constantly. DC fans can operate direct from a DC power source. They are smaller and can be more cost effective that larger AC fans. They are phsically smaller, which means they can be easier to fit in restricted space. They do however have limitations to air capacities. ie: More air = More fans.
Suited to smaller horsepower/area situations. Optional 12v (15 amps) or 24 volt (8 amps). No running generator required. 1 DC fan can supply air for aprox 400Hp. All units supplied complete with a full installation kit and instructions. Smaller so can be much easier to install. Limitations on air capabilites do exist
AC Fans:
Suitable if you have a generator running constantly. These fans are available to a bigger capacity. Manufactured & sized to suit any size requirement &/or air volume. Can be supplied with higher rpm to increase air flow if space is restricted. More space is required to install these fans. They need to be installed by a licenced electrician. AC fans are mroe suited to higher horsepower applications.
Suitable if you have a constantly running generator. More suitable for a larger commercial operation - ie Greater HP. All units supplied complete with a full installation kit and instructions. Can be manufactured to suit any size required. Can be supplied with higher RPM if space is restricted.
